This 1973 Nova belongs to Kelly Horton. He modified the Nova himself by mini-tubbing, installing the roll cage, and changing some of the original vanity of the car, like using different year bumpers on the front and rear, and installing the license plate on the bumper instead of the rear of the car, and also installed a fuel cell and the battery in the trunk. He has a 529 cu. in. Cadillac motor for his engine. He has raced it at Bandimere Speedway and it ran a 11.66 at 118 mph for it's personal best time at this altitude. The best time for Kelly was at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and ran a 10.93 120 mph this past November 2003 running Super Chevy. |

This is the newest Nova
addition to the Horton family. It belongs to Shawnna Horton. Kelly bought it for Shawnna as a gift for Christmas in 2001. At the time of purchase, mostly everything was stock, with the exception of the paint job and the interior. In the winter of 2004, Kelly swapped in a Saginaw 4 speed manual tranny. He is planning on putting in a 400 small block motor, to give it a little more power. |
